Chief
executive officer of H&M (Swedish retail chain), Karl-Johan Persson will
available in Bangladesh on 03-09-2012 to attend meetings with the readymade
garment manufacturers.
Bangladesh
is an important outsourcing destination for H&M. So they are increasing
their purchase orders every year from Bangladesh.
As
the biggest buyer of Bangladeshi ready made garment products, H&M
thanks to its annual purchases (nearly USD 1.5 billion), which has overtaken Walmart.
It has approximately 2,600 stores around the world. Including
H&M, it operates under five different brands- Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday
and COS.
Along
with making factory tours, Karl-Johan will hold important meetings with the
BGMEA leaders and the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. H&M’s official will discuss
issues surrounding the RMG sector of Bangladesh. Including
the CFO (chief financial officer) and chief of global marketing, three officials
of H&M will accompany Karl-Johan for the two-day visit.
